Puppet Dialogue

Barney Stinson - 12.12.16

This project was one of my favorite projects this semester. I really like working in puppeting and it was fun taking one of my favorite TV show characters into cartoon. I think the hardest part of this project for me was getting the gestures and the faces to look just right. Overall, it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed this project.

Puppet Walk

Roxanne Walk Cycle - 11.16.16

This project was probably the most difficult one yet. I really struggled with this in certain areas. I chose to use Roxanne from A Goofy Movie. She was fun to do, but also hard at the same time. I didn't have too much trouble with her legs and how they moved, but more so with her torso and arms. She does look a little stiff up top, but it was interesting working with a puppet, as I've never done this before. I can say I really like animating puppets though because it makes volume control a lot easier to maintain than when doing frame by frame.

Kinetic Typography

Just Keep Swimming - 10.31.16

This project was probably one of the ones I enjoyed the most during this course. It was kind of fun to be able to make a video with words, almost like a lyrics music video. I used After Effects for this and I really liked doing this. I used the "Just Keep Swimming" song from Finding Nemo that Dory sings.

Bouncing Ball (AE)

Weight Project - 10.12.16

This project was fairly easy. I really liked doing this project more in After Effects than I did in Adobe Animate. Such a simple project, but this took a lot of time to really get the speeds and the squash/stretch to look just right.

Weight

Weight Project - 10.5.16

This project was a little harder than I first anticipated. Mickey Mouse was a tricky character to work with, especially from the front facing view that I chose. In the future, I would definitely try a profile or 3/4 view for this. Overall, it was fun, but I think the hardest part was keeping the volumes.

Model Sheets

Character Model Sheets - 9.26.16

I plan on using Mickey Mouse for my Weight animation project. I want him to come in and try to pick something heavy up, maybe trying to impress Minnie. Then him fall back and look around to see if anyone saw him fall down.

Rotoscope

Rotoscope - 9.21.16

For my rotoscope project, I chose to do the warehouse dance scene from the original Footloose (1984). This project was very tedious and time consuming, but I really enjoyed it. I like the way this turned out and I liked doing this because it was fairly simple. However, I don't think I ever want to be a rotoscope animator.
